SNOWMASS TOWN HALL & POLICE DEPT.

Location

Snowmass Village, CO

The 24,000-square-foot Snowmass Village Town Hall is carefully integrated into its mountain landscape through a contextual approach to massing, materiality, and site response. Organized into three distinct forms, the building features a central entry, atrium, and council chamber flanked by two office and departmental wings beneath sweeping curved roofs that reduce the overall scale of the structure. Stone and timber elements drawn from the regional mountain vernacular anchor the public spaces and entry experience.

Passive solar strategies and the integration of the building into the hillside reinforce both sustainability and the alpine character of the site, creating a lasting example of responsible civic design.

The municipally funded facility houses the Town Council Chambers, Town Manager’s Offices, Group Sales and Marketing, Building, Finance and Planning Departments, and the Police Department. An underground parking structure also serves as the emergency fleet maintenance facility. Recycled materials, energy-efficient systems, and strategic solar orientation further support the project’s environmental stewardship and connection to place.
